Yesterday I have been invited to the Longines Box : the brand is the official timer of Piazza di Siena, as it is simply called by roman. The winner of the spectacular Puissance competitiion was the italian horse rider, Emanuele Gaudiano. He won after falling from his horse Corbanus. He won because he he falled after the jump. He went over the obstacle. It was a very dramatic score for everybody watching the race. The nine competitors were all italian (second Roberto Arioldi) except from Mark McAuley, an amazing irish rider who arrived 3rd. I love Piazza di Siena, it is still one of the most elegant appointment in Rome that occur every spring. I don't know why it has not be discovered yet by highend tourism. The Queen came here few years ago and She loved it. Don't miss it nex year.

If I have to make a present to a man I like or love, I have no doubt: I go to Battistoni, in via Condotti 61. In this period of the year, the new bathing suits arrived: coloured and light. Otherwise you can find ties, jackets, all kind of shirts even custom made. They ship them all over the word. Marlon Brando, Andy Warhol, Alberto Moravia were clients as you can see from the pictures in the store. Nowadays you can notice photos of Francis Ford Coppola and John Kerry, just to name the first names that come into my mind. The store was established in 1947 by Guglielmo Battistoni. A great spot is the Hedy Martinelli jewelry boutique, in via Fontanella Borghese 62, in the center of Rome. They create unique pieces made with unconventional material, such as steel or iron. Often combined with precious stones. The jewels are made by hand. Below you can see a couple of rings made of a dark silver net with diamonds.
